Children’s Ministry
The Mission of the Dunamis SDA Church’s Children’s Ministries Department (2022) is to nurture in children a willingness to serve, and a loving relationship with Jesus.
By God’s Grace we hope to help develop within each child the following:
- A relationship with Jesus, so that they will experience the unconditional love of Jesus, find assurance of acceptance and forgiveness, make a commitment to Him, and develop their faith
- An inclusive mind-set that values and involves all children regardless of race, color, language, gender, age, abilities, or socio-economic circumstances
- A service-oriented spirit, in which children are given opportunities for hands-on service to people in our/their neighborhood, which could establish a pattern of outreach, humility, and personal skills to others that would help them through life’s many circumstances and situations 4. Leadership, Individual and Team-Member opportunities, in which children are empowered, trained, and equipped to be role-models and team players among their peers
It is the goal of the Children’s Ministry Leadership to do the following:
- Provide opportunities for the children to learn the Bible, create, develop, and strengthen their relationship with Jesus
- Maintain inclusive ministries, in which the volunteers who minister and the children to whom they minister will be valued and involved regardless of race, color, language, gender, age, abilities, or socio-economic circumstances
- Work in partnership with other ministries, such as family ministries, Sabbath School, and stewardship, to support and help parents develop the faith of their children
- Follow Conference guidance regarding safeguards to protect children from physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse; to choose volunteers with high spiritual and moral backgrounds; and to minimize the church’s liability by receiving NYC Child Abuse Protection Training and Certification
- Child-centered evangelistic ministries, in which children who are not enfolded in the church family will be introduced to the love of Jesus through outreach-programs such as: Vacation Bible School, online Sabbath School, and Seasonal Neighborhood Outreach Events
